The Abu Dhabi Police

Hello there, today I want to tell you about the Abu Dhabi Police and how they protect the general public in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

The police in Abu Dhabi are more than just traffic police; they are there to protect the citizens and visitors alike by enforcing the laws and regulations of the government.

A main concern of the police there is crime control and reduction. Fortunately, you don’t have to worry so much about this as the crime rate in Abu Dhabi is relatively low.

Public safety concerns are dealt with quickly and professionally just like they are in all other parts of the United Arab Emirates.

When you visit Abu Dhabi you won’t really need to stress over security and safety concerns as the police do a very good job of keeping things in order.

The general directorate of the Abu Dhabi Police department as mandated by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of UAE, is to ‘maintain security and stability to ensure prosperity and the safeguarding of public gains.’ So as you can see, even the president himself is all about ensuring public health and safety, too.

When you visit Abu Dhabi or anywhere in the Middle East for that matter you’ll notice that the laws can be extremely different from the laws you may be accustomed to. It would be wise if you were research some of the common laws so that you don’t inadvertently break any laws and find yourself in trouble with the police.

For instance spitting in public, while rude and impolite but not necessary illegal in most places, is highly illegal in Abu Dhabi as in most other Middle Eastern countries. Not knowing that could cost you a really hefty fine or even jail time if you’re really unlucky.

Overall, the Abu Dhabi Police maintain law and order by means of community policing and they keep you safe and sound when you visit Abu Dhabi. You’ll notice when in Abu Dhabi that most police officers don’t carry the traditional appearance of the police officer that many police forces around the world convey.

This current non-traditional image is aimed at better serving the public by way of being more in touch with the public and not so far removed (by uniform) as the police in other places tend to be.

While public safety and crime control are top priorities for the Abu Dhabi Police, another one of their main priorities is to provide citizens, tourists, and guests with a certain peace of mind that allows them to lead a lifestyle that is not only free from crime and safety hazards but also reminds them that they are living in or visiting one of the best places in the world.

When you visit Abu Dhabi you can rest assured that the police will be looking out for your best interests and will be there to provide you with top notch protection in the event of any emergency.
