The Dubai Knowledge Village
Dubai Knowledge Village (also known as DKV) is the latest innovative and progressive project that the country has launched.
This community has been established and introduced to the world last September of 2003, with Phase I occupying around 450,000 square feet.
DKV envisions itself to eventually be established as a lively place for learning that would hone the talents of those living around and thus will help out in the future advancement of the economy in its general sense.
As it gradually realizes the concept of the plan, the community has slowly been incorporating all possible movers of this endeavor.
DKV opportunities include jobs for consultants for various learning and training institutes, a place for more businesses to be established, infrastructures for different organizations and support for freelancers and entrepreneurs.
At present there are branches of some known schools outside Dubai, such as those from Australia, Canada, India, Russia and United Kingdom, that has already been built.
The opening of these international schools have provided more venue for foreign students residing in Dubai to get an easier access to educational systems that they are more familiar with.
Another opportunity opened in line with the Dubai Knowledge Village initiatives is the setting up of companies inside the community.
Four years after DKV’s establishment, phase II has been reached with additional 6 blocks (600,000 sq ft) occupied, providing a habitat for the 69 out of the planned 450 companies that have already been getting into their completion.
With this, expats who are affiliated on these businesses have become close to their chances of continuing further graduate studies.
Although universities at DKV are not as high as the levels of the top international schools of the world, it can certainly bring quality education and expertise to their professional students.
Other than schools, training institutes are also one of the greatest venues that Dubai Knowledge Village is investing into. Well, anything related to learning is an endeavor of this innovative community.
As long term plan for this learning community, CEO Dr Abdulla Al Karam, together with his pool of directors, sets vision on reaching phase III, the Dubai Academic City, for a larger venue for learning opportunities.
For this to materialize, a number of activities or events at DKV must happen and should be well-participated to encourage more support. Some of the events being organized now are human development networking of professionals called the Breakfast Club, Small Business Incubator for start-up businesses, HR Open Day and Annual Training for the industry representatives.
If you will notice, the focus is really on educational and development in various business areas, that is why partners of DKV are those who are experienced with HR centers for development, training institute consultants, innovative and e-learning experts.Dubai Knowledge Village has never stopped from keeping up with their vision; this is why coming to this community will be a worthwhile experience to everybody. DKV will soon give rise to an emerging advanced technological research and development community.
