Don’t mess with the Dubai police. They are mean, they barely speak English and they favor all the local residents more than they will favor you. If they know you are not a resident of Dubai they will definitely slap you with a big fine.


Whenever you get pulled over make sure to be polite and act like you respect them.

Don’t be afraid to ask questions but do it nicely with a smile.

Don’t smile too much. Just enough so that they think you are sincere.

You don’t want them to think that you are laughing about the whole thing.

There is a lot of double standards in Dubai.

The Arabs get away with so much it is crazy. There is a lot of racism or favoritism toward their own people. The police force is very strict especially towards tourists. They make sure that you follow all the rules and regulations of the country.

One thing for sure, do whatever you want but do not ever get caught drinking and driving. They can arrest you there and not let you go back to your country. You can end up spending thousands of dollars on lawyers to get you out of that mess.

Recently there was a story about a couple in Dubai that were having sex on the beach. The couple said they didn’t but Dubai government thinks that touching in public is having sex. So they got jailed and there was a lot of litigation. Long story short do not mess with the local laws and the police. Not just in Dubai but anywhere in the world.
