Luxury Dubai Airport Facility
In summer of 2008 Dubai International Airport opened its new 3,400 square meter VIP facility, the "Al Majlis"
The facility is located near Dubai Airport’s terminal 3 and offers exclusive services for all frequent fliers transiting in Dubai.
The number of transit passengers who visited the old VIP facility was increasing almost 15% every year.
In 2007, the old VIP facility served almost 70,000 customers and took in Dhs. 33 millions.
The facility is designed to accommodate for everyone with special needs as well. The idea is to provide a home-like or office-like environment so you don’t feel like you are traveling. In fact no matter how much you hate getting in the plane, the arrangements will make you want to look forward to traveling.
The facility is completely integrated with the airport in the sense that it has services like check-in, check-out and immigration. It promises to be faster and more personal due to a smaller group of passengers that it serves relative to the rest of the airport.
A glimpse of some of the tea rooms at the Al Majilis - Stunning!
You can enjoy all these luxuries at approximately Dhs. 1,510 per person if you are arriving or departing and Dhs. 2,010 if you are a transit passenger. You will have to pay an additional Dhs. 1,000 if you want to leave the airport and come back for your next flight.
This is approximately $500 for me on my next trip to Dubai. The facility definitely sounds very good and I just might try it! Stay tuned, I will let you know of my first hand experience!
If you are a frequent traveler yourself, make sure you have the Priority Pass that allows access to over 600 airport lounges world-wide!
