The creative masterminds behind the artistry of Dubai’s architecture continue to astonish the world by combining modern architecture with the rich history of Dubai. These works of art have caused a phenomenon that continue to attract tourists and contribute greatly to the economy. It’s an indicator of the amazing growth experienced in recent years that has catapulted this Middle East state out of the ranks of small fishing town to prosperous UAE city. The Burj Al Arab is a structure that has inspired awe among other nations. Amazing in it’s creativity and flawless in design builders conceptualized solutions ahead of the times. The Burj Al Arab is the world’s tallest hotel. This superstructure began with a vision in 1993 by architect Tom Wright of WS Atkins. Construction commenced in 1994 and the doors to this magnificent structure were opened on December 1, 1999. Voted the world’s most luxurious hotel, the Burj Al Arab is an all-suite hotel soaring 321 meters into the heavens and filling the Dubai skyline. Designed to resemble a billowing sail the hotel stands as a clandestine luminary during the day refracting the sun’s light and illuminates the night with representative water and fire lighting. The entrance brandishes fireballs 2.5m in diameter propelled 8m into the air from four towers. The resulting optical illusion is that of flames reflecting throughout the hotel’s glass exterior. The Ellipse fountain gracing the entrance to the hotel features bursts of fire combiled with 20,000 litres of water artfully orchestrated to produce the most dramatic visual symphony. The hotel was erected along the shores of the stunning Jumeirah beach giving its guests breathtaking views of the shoreline. It stands tall on an artificial island about 280 meters from Jumeirah beach connected by a private curving bridge. The structure is iconic with its silver peak towering towards the heavens. There is a silver disk near the top that serves as a landing pad for private planes. The interior is just as amazing as the exterior. Inside the 321 meters of billowing genius are the vibrant and robust representative of the land, people and culture. Robust and vibrant colors grace the walls along with 24 – carat gold leaf embellishments. The world’s tallest atrium stands within the lobby area of the hotel at 180m flanked by golden columns and a central fountain adorned with arches of water dancing to peaks of over 42m into the air. Nestled between the escalators is a cascading waterfall that produces an elegant arch of water and fog in amazingly choreographed rhythm. The overall magnificence of the structure is inspiring and inspirational. One can only marvel at the creative genius of the talent responsible for making this vision a reality. .
