Hi, Sunil here to talk about Dubai Sports City, one of my favorite areas in Dubai.

Sports is life in this region of Dubai.

Continuing its massive development, the DSC represents one of Dubai’s greatest feats yet, and certainly a first in so many regards.

Latching on to the noblest of sporting values, the undertaking that is the Dubai Sports City is a testament to the determination and passion that underline all sports.

Spanning 50 million square feet, the focal point of the city would be the various sports facilities that it boasts, with residential and commercial areas built around it, as well as other community facilities.

Capturing the Essence of Sport

Basically, the Dubai Sports City caters for almost every sport, and its infrastructure reflects that desire.

Undoubtedly one of the highlights is the 18-hole golf course called the Dunes that was designed by none other than Ernie Els himself! Already, it is being billed as expected to redefine world-class golf, and certainly it would be no surprise if it did.

Also present is a stunning outdoor stadium that can fit up to 60 thousand people, as they witness either ferocious games of rugby, slickly skillful matches of soccer, or athletes taking part in track and field events.

Same goes with the dome-shaped indoor arena that holds 10 thousand instead, but focuses on any and all indoor games including basketball, indoor hockey, handball, netball, volleyball and even ice hockey.

Lastly, but certainly not least, cricket fans from all over the world will probably be glad that they aren’t overlooked, and if you’re one you will certainly want to head over to Dubai to check out their 25 thousand capacity cricket stadium. Supposedly, the turf on the cricket square is perfection personified.

Training the Legends of Tomorrow

If you thought that the infrastructure was impressive, then be prepared to be amazed by the prestigious centers of sporting excellence that are on track to be unveiled along with the DSC. Instead of solely concentrating on sports today, Dubai has set its eye on the world of sports tomorrow, and these sports academies within the DSC represent an investment in the future.

How many soccer stars do you think will hail from the Manchester United Soccer School in Dubai? Maybe the future No.1 Tennis player will have learned the basics at the David Lloyd Tennis Academy, also in Dubai. For cricket, there is the ICC Global Cricket Academy, and field hockey has its very own World Hockey Academy as well.

One of the most advanced technological academies has also set up shop in the DSC in the form of the Butch Harmon School of Golf, that the very latest equipment to analyze golf swings and help players better themselves, regardless of level.

By providing the best possible facilities in what is shaping up to be the perfect training ground for professional sportspeople, Dubai Sports City is not only set to become a hub of sports for today, but it is also probably going to end up as home to some of the greatest fledgling talents that will dazzle us all in years to come.
