This book by Gavin Thomas is a handy guide to Dubai that discusses both old and modern attractions of Dubai.

Specifically the book goes in to detail about the local marketplace (also called the souks) as well as the natural attractions of Dubai such as parks and beaches.

This book’s unique offering is that it provides details into drivable trips from Dubai to nearby Emirates like Sharjah and Abu Dhabi (capital of UAE).

Other than that you get your standard recommendations on places to eat, shop, stay and hang out.

There is also a map of Dubai that comes with the guide and a dedicated section on information you must know on Dubai.

There is also a section that you can refer for a quick list of things to do in Dubai.

The guide is small, thin and it is in color. It is easy to navigate through. I have read this guide but I don’t personally own it.

Maybe that’s why I don’t feel so passionate about it? I’d say it’s a pretty good and accurate guide to Dubai however. It is very reasonable in cost and it can’t hurt to have it.
